like for real Chinese food.

I love Chinese food.
I went to a place near my Uncle's house.
 near twin peaks.
 near the safeway.
just up the stairs to the right.
All season Seafood restaurant.

I think there are new owners because the last time I went there there was a huge bar and a karaoke machine.
It's changed a-loot.
It's a little fancier and they have fish and lobster and other swimming creatures.
like this!

there were two menus and we ordered a pretty safe menu.
One menu is very american.
And then the other one is much bigger and thicker!

next time I want to be daring!

silk worm salad!
goose intestine!
frog legs and ginger sauce!

who's in?

Hope you are having a good day and being more daring than me!

photo booth in japantown: kawaii!!!

In japantown there is a whole area full of photobooths.
They are all in Japanese!
But everyone is really helpful there.
We all did one.
When you go into the photobooth there is a little video and they tell you what poses to do (if you want)
so I just didn't think up these wonderful poses by myself!
we laughed.
alot.
I wanted to share:)

Kawaii!
(cute in japanese)

friends in sf

we had a full house this last weekend of friends.
we made it work.
and had so much fun and my instax wall is filling up!
places we went: social kitchen and brewery, churchill, park chow, emmy's spagetti shack, japantown (the j-pop summit festival was there too)
enjoy!

and.

i love reading the notebooks in Japantown:

They had some yummy food trucks but we were stuffed so I only had room for one.
I had to.

AND.... they were giving out free t-shirts.
done.

the one on the right was pork belly in a steamed bun with pickled radishes.
Amy got the vegetarian version with tofu and greens.

I'm looking forward to going to the Haight district for the food truck thursday night.

Hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend friends!

first week in sf with pictures ( a little late)

a little late in the making but here goes:

our first week consisted of course with eating at favorites and new eats.

note to self: need to remember to write down what I'm eating after I take the picture.

pastries in Japantown.
aren't these adorable?

anniversary hat picture.

and I always have to get spam musubi. It's wierd I know.
but that's why I like to order it.

Here is a a link to a recipe for it.
Here.

burma superstar goodness.
this particular dish is their Vegetarian Samusa soup.
samusas broken up with falafels, lentils, cabbage, and onions.
yum.
also I love the pumpkin curry and of course you have to get their house favorite:
Rainbow Salad: 22 ingredients! noodles, tofu, papaya, onions, so much goodness.
this place is always hoppin' we always call ahead put ourselves on a list and grab a drink around the corner until they give us a ring.
also we went to one of my favorite book stores.
Green Apple Books
the hubby accidentally broke my last mug from there so I needed a replacement as well.

then the hubby left to go back to Humboldt.
Sad day:(
My first day of school my brother and I went to a Vietnamese place on Irving called Yummy Yummy.

I got the stir fried clams with basil.

and we shared Muc chien don (fried squid)

Good end to the first week back at school. It's hard to get back into the rhythm of homework and classes. But knowing I have good eats to end my day always helps:)

I'm almost caught up on recent eating adventures!
Happy Saturday!

puppies!

this is kind of a ridiculous post.
I love dogs.
I mean I will point out every puppy to you that I see on the street if you let me.
I love spending time with my dear friend Valerie because she appreciates every point or shriek when I see a new dog walking on the street.
While I was cleaning out my iphone pictures I realized that I took way too many dog pictures.

But is that really a bad thing?

I mean I would appreciate reading a blog with just puppies on it.

Puppies!

and finally a picture of my dog Molly.
I miss her oh so much (she lives on the east coast now).
isn't she adorable?

aren't you just a little puppy happy now?

Happy Friday!

today was a good day

good day.

wore a cute dress.
I haven't quite got the hang of taking pictures of myself especially since I only have my
iphone:)

bagel sandwich with my favorite mug.
and trader joe's dried mangos.
yumm.

wrote a monologue for class.
which terrified me.
and people laughed!
at all the right places.

and went to dinner with a dear friend.

And it was sunny in the whole entire city.
Even in the sunset!

it was a good day.

Hope your day was wonderful friends!

comforts

I'm missing my husband and friends so a little comfort is needed.
first. chocolate!
I love these. I discovered them in England when we visited family.
Minstrels.
Imagine M&M's but larger and more chocolate.
goodness.

a favorite book that I've read since I was in 8th grade over and over
and over again.
A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.
It's very worn and loved.
now i just read my favorite parts.

blanket.
When I was little I had a little blankie that I needed. could not sleep without.
this one is a newer one.
sorta.
I can sleep without this one but i always sleep better when cuddled around it.
My grandmother made it for me and I love it.

What comforts you?
